Reduced Aphids from 19 Aphids/Leaf to 4 Aphids/Leaf

HYDROVANT-fA CUCUMBER REPLICATED TRIAL
Cotton Aphid Control on Cucumber

HYDROVANT and Brigade (Bifenthrin) for Cotton Aphid control on Cucumbers in San Joaquin Valley, California. The graph shows the untreated check, the Brigade alone at the standard rate and the .1% HYDROVANT and Brigade at the standard rate.

Conclusion: 14 days of excellent control were obtained with HYDROVANT at .1% and Brigade at the standard rate. Note that Bifenthrin, a member of the Pyrethroid family, typically struggles to maintain acceptable levels of Aphid populations for more than 5 or 6 days.

Very Effective with Switch Fungicide for Gray Mold Control

HYDROVANT-fA BLUEBERRY REPLICATED TRIAL
Mold Control on Blueberry

Visalia, CA (San Joaquin Valley); Blueberry (var. ‘Emerald’); Applications made by CO2 powered experimental sprayer at 96 gallons/acre. Spray was directed from each side of the blueberry row; plants were completely wet from the spray. There was no crop injury observed on leaves, buds or developing berries. Wetting was excellent on leaves and stems with Hydrovant-fA + Switch. There was no mixing or spraying issues with the tank-mixture of Hydrovant-fA + Switch. Hydrovant-fA + Switch resulted in significant reduction in the number of berry shoots infected with Botrytis spp. compared to Switch applied alone.

Excellent Protection with Abound Fungicide for Brown Rot Control on Almonds

HYDROVANT-fA ALMOND REPLICATED TRIAL
Disease Control on Almond

Reedley, CA (San Joaquin Valley); Almond (var. ‘Nonpareil’); Applications made by a handgun sprayer at 189 gallons/acre. Trees were sprayed to run-off. There was no crop injury observed on leaves, flowers or developing nuts. The Hydrovant-fA + Abound did an excellent job of wetting the tree branches, flowers and leaves. There were no mixing or spraying issues observed with the Hydrovant-fA treatments. The brown rot infestation was low whereas the shot hole infestation was high.

Significant Increase in Weed Control

HYDROVANT-fA WEED CONTROL REPLICATED TRIAL
Glyphosate plus Hydrovant

Results show that by combining glyphosate at a 50% rate with Hydrovant-fA, efficacy increased significantly in controlling broadleaf weeds and grasses. Weeds and grasses tested included: Hairy Crabgrass, Thistle, Grass, Argentine Fingergrass, Jungle Rice and Common Purslane.

  • All treatments applied with Hydrovant-fA resulted in a 128% – 152% increase in weed control.
  • 50% rate of Glyphosate + Hydrovant-fA performed significantly better than Glyphosate alone.
  • Evaluation after 8 days saw the fastest and greatest weed control.

The Most Rainfast Adjuvant

HYDROVANT-fA RAINFAST REPLICATED TRIAL
Isotopically-enriched (2H) Bifenthrin plus Hydrovant

The aim of this project was to assess whether Hydrovant-fA adjuvant increases pesticide retention, when applied with Bifenthrin on leaves of corn (Zea mays), before being subject to a series of artificial rainfall events. Isotopically-enriched (2H) Bifenthrin, the active ingredient in Brigade, was applied with and without Hydrovant-fA to test the efficacy of Hydrovant-fA at a dilution of 1:1000 to persist under a daily rainfall intensity of ½ inch in 3 minutes every day for 30 days of precipitation equivalent.

Conclusion: Hydrovant-fA provided a 35% – 45% retention difference.

Gets Systemics into the Plant

HYDROVANT-fA SYSTEMIC FUNGICIDE REPLICATED TRIAL
Triadimenol plus Hydrovant

This study objective was to determine level of residues of triadimenol in pumpkins following seven foliar applications of BAYFIDAN 250 EC Fungicide. In the analytical phase of the study, samples of the pumpkin (whole fruit) were analyzed for residues of Triadimenol. The study conducted under the OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice, consisted of one field site at Glenore Grove in the Lockyer Valley of Queensland, Australia.

Conclusion: Seven days after the last foliar application, the pumpkins treated with Triadimenol + Hydrovant-fA resulted in 2.8 times the Triadimenol in the tissue of the pumpkins than those treated with Triadimenol alone. No symptoms of phytotoxicity were observed during the study.

Ensures Efficacy When Spraying Wet Crops

HYDROVANT-fA RAINFAST REPLICATED TRIAL
Isotopically-enriched (2H) Bifenthrin plus Hydrovant

The aim of this protocol is to compare how the use of Hydrovant-fA adjuvant increases pesticide adhesion when applied onto different wet or dry leaf conditions of corn (Zea mays) at the time of application. After application, the leaves were then subjected to a series of artificial mist events to examine pesticide retention. Isotopically-enriched (2H) Bifenthrin was applied with and without Hydrovant-fA to wet and dry leaf. surfaces to compare efficacy.

Conclusion: Bifenthrin with Hydrovant applied to a wet leaf provided statistically similar pesticide adhesion to Bifenthrin alone being applied to a dry leaf during the entire duration of the experiment.

Improved Prowl H2O Pre-Emerge Herbicide Weed Control

HYDROVANT-fA PRE-EMERGE HERBICIDE REPLICATED TRIAL
Prowl H2O plus Hydrovant

This data was part of a large, replicated pre-emerge herbicide trial. The objective of this part of the trial was to evaluate whether the addition of Hydrovant-fA to Prowl H2O (pendimethalin) improved weed control. The same rate of Prowl H2O was sprayed on sandy soils at the U/Florida’s SWFREC research center with and without Hydrovant-fA at 0.1% v/v.

Conclusion: Results show that combining Prowl H2O with Hydrovant-fA at a rate of 0.1% resulted in significant efficacy gains in the final 74 days of the 120-day trial.

Improved Chateau Pre-Emerge Herbicide Weed Control

HYDROVANT-fA PRE-EMERGE HERBICIDE REPLICATED TRIAL
Chateau plus Hydrovant

The goal of this replicated study was  to compare flumioxazin weed control with and without Hydrovant-fA. Row middles commonly seen in fruit and vegetable crops in Florida in between raised beds were treated with flumioxazin. The same labeled rate of flumioxazin was applied alone and with Hydrovant-fA at 0.1% v/v at the University of Florida’s SWFREC research facility. The beds and middles were prepared per standard commercial growing operations and the soil type was sand.

Conclusion: Results show that combining Chateau 51 WDG with Hydrovant-fA at a rate of 0.1% resulted in significant efficacy gains in the final 60 days of the 120-day trial.
